Challenge

GatenbySanderson is one of the UK’s most successful and established executive search and selection consultancies. They wanted a new website which would not only maintain and enhance their reputation as the market leader in executive recruitment, but also position them as a forward-thinking organisation keen to embrace the benefits that online can offer them.

Solution

We carefully considered the needs of GatenbySanderson staff, their clients and their candidates at every stage of the site’s development.

Permanent and interim candidates can now enjoy their own dedicated areas of the site, which contain useful information and resources tailored specifically to their unique needs. We also developed a searchable live job board and full online job application and accreditation processes, all fully integrated with the client’s offline processes.

Candidates have the option to set up an online account and once registered they can manage their personal information, bookmark jobs, receive job email alerts and RSS feeds of vacancies.

GatenbySanderson’s clients can choose to promote vacancies through the job board or across the site's extensive banner ad space. They can also commission a microsite to communicate further their organisation’s culture and personality. We developed a new microsite template which is more flexible and easier to customise than what existed previously, to further support this activity.

Results

The success of the site can be seen in the following figures, all of which are far in excess of what was anticipated.

From November 2007 to May 2008 the site received 49,000 visitors; over 23,000 of which were unique. During this time 11,000 online accounts were created.

In the first six months of the site being live 358 jobs were posted, with 184 applications for interim positions and 1,672 for permanent posts. There were also 315 interim candidates that applied for accreditation online.

The microsites have also proved very successful. During the whole of 2007, 32 sites were developed and the target for 2008 was to produce 60. By the end of May, 50 had already been developed. The combined visitors to these microsites was nearly 60,500.
